Privacy policy

When you visit

Our server and Cloudflare, which delivers and protects the website, process connection information such as your IP address, requested address, browser, referral information and request time. This helps deliver pages, investigate errors and prevent abuse. Avoid putting personal information in page URLs.

We use self-hosted Umami analytics and Google Analytics to understand visits, popular pages and general device and referral information, and the Meta Pixel to measure visits that come from our Facebook posts. Cloudflare also provides traffic and performance analytics. These services process technical visit information; you do not need to provide a name, email address or phone number to browse.

Cookies and browser storage

The site uses session storage to remember display choices, such as showing price movements in rupees or percentages. Your browser may cache public files and, if you enable notifications, retain a service worker and push subscription. Our Umami analytics does not use tracking cookies. Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel set their own cookies to count returning visits, and Cloudflare may use cookies for security. Optional notifications

Notifications require your permission. If you subscribe, we store the browser's push endpoint, encryption keys and delivery information so we can send fuel updates. Your browser's push provider also processes notification delivery. We do not ask for your name or contact details to subscribe.

To stop notifications, use the notification control in the site header again, or revoke permission in your browser. The site control requests removal of the server subscription and unsubscribes the browser. If that request cannot reach our server, the endpoint may remain until a later delivery detects that it has expired or repeated failures cause its removal.

Facebook and sharing

You do not need to sign in with Facebook to use ek litre. When connected, our publishing integration uses an administrator-authorized Page ID and access token to publish fuel information to the ek litre Facebook Page. These credentials are for the operator and are not included in public pages or downloads. The integration is not used to collect visitors' Facebook profiles or friend lists.

Sharing is your choice. A Facebook or WhatsApp share action opens that provider with the selected link or content. A device share action passes your selection to your device's share service. Facebook sharing may also copy the post description to your clipboard so you can paste it. The receiving service's privacy policy applies to what you share there.

Access, retention and service providers

Technical information is used to operate, measure and secure the service. Access is limited to the operator and the infrastructure or delivery providers involved in those functions. Providers may process information in countries other than your own.

Server access logs are rotated daily, with 14 daily archives configured. That log setting does not describe the retention of analytics, backups or providers' own records. Push subscriptions remain until removal or expiry handling as described above. Administrative publishing records can be retained to diagnose failures and prevent duplicate posts.

Cloudflare describes its handling of information in its privacy policy. Facebook and WhatsApp provide their policies within their services.

Questions and deletion requests

Contact the operator through the ek litre Facebook Page for privacy questions or to request access, correction or deletion of information associated with you. Describe the feature involved and the approximate date so we can identify the relevant records. Do not send passwords, access tokens or push encryption keys.

A Page administrator can also revoke the publishing integration through Meta's settings and request removal of its stored credentials. The notification control is the direct way to remove a browser subscription. Requests may require enough information to verify that the data is yours; anonymous visit statistics may not be attributable to an individual.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when the site's data handling changes and revise the date above. This policy covers ek litre; linked source documents and third-party websites are governed by their own policies.
